Trading 212: exporting your history as CSV
The export path per the Help Centre, the data types, the tax documents for Germany, and what remains without an import.

Trading 212 offers the history as CSV, and that is the whole documented route to structured data: the file carries orders, dividends and cash movements as event rows. This article describes the path as Trading 212’s Help Centre describes it on 18 October 2026, says what the Help Centre leaves open, and reports what Trading 212 states about tax for customers resident in Germany.
Short answer
App: menu (☰) > History > the export button > choose timeframe and data type > generate the file. The Help Centre describes only this app path. Acutic has no import for Trading 212.
The path to the CSV
The Help Centre article “Can I export the trading data from my account?” (retrieved 18 October 2026) gives these steps for the mobile app:
- Open the menu (☰) and choose History.
- Tap the export button.
- Set the timeframe and data type. The article names orders, transactions and dividends as examples.
- Generate the file. It downloads to the device and opens in a spreadsheet program such as Excel or Google Sheets.
What the article leaves open: menu paths for the web version, and a limit on the timeframe. For the web version, a third-party guide (Snowball Analytics, published 5 November 2022) describes History, export icon, timeframe, data selection, confirm; Trading 212 does not list that path in the article above. On the timeframe, a Trading 212 announcement of 8 January 2021 names at most one calendar year per export; whether that still holds is not stated in the Help Centre. The same announcement places the button at the top right of the History view. Menus change, and Trading 212’s own help page comes first.
CFD accounts have their own article (“How to export the trading data from my CFD account?”, retrieved 18 October 2026): menu (☰) > History > Export, choose period and categories, then “Generate”. One file covers up to 12 months. The categories are Closed Positions, Orders, Transactions, Dividends adjustment, Overnight Interest and Interest on Cash; a “RecordType” column assigns each row its category. Earlier exports sit under “Recent exports”.
What the export contains
The data types the Help Centre names, in one view (as of 18 October 2026):
| Data type | According to the Help Centre |
|---|---|
| Orders | Selectable in the export (Invest and CFD). |
| Dividends | Selectable in the export; “Dividends adjustment” in the CFD article. |
| Transactions | Selectable in the export. Per the 2021 announcement, switching it off omits deposits, withdrawals and transfers. |
| Interest | In the CFD article as “Interest on Cash” and “Overnight Interest”. |
| Open positions | Not in the CFD export. A “Confirmation of holdings” lists all open positions, per “What documents can I get from Trading 212?”, and comes from the Documents area. |
Trading 212 publishes no list of the CSV column headers in the articles above, so this article names none. A community report notes that columns vary with data type and currency, for example currencies in brackets inside the headers. The header row of one’s own file settles it.
Other documents in the Documents area
Besides the CSV, the Help Centre (article, retrieved 18 October 2026) lists, among others, an account activity statement as PDF (up to 18 months), monthly statements, an annual statement for a tax year and a costs & charges report. They are generated in the app via menu (☰) > Documents. Per the article, annual and tax statements are not produced for Cash ISA and Stocks & Shares ISA accounts.
Tax: what Trading 212 states for Germany
This reports a provider’s statements. It is not tax information and makes no statement about any individual case. Source: Help Centre, “How am I taxed?” and “How do I get a Capital Income Statement?”, retrieved 18 October 2026:
- Automatic tax deduction applies “only to German tax residents registered under Trading 212 EU” and to transactions from 5 January 2026. Per the article it covers all transactions in Invest and CFD accounts that generate capital gains.
- For tax year 2025 no tax certificate was issued for Invest accounts; instead there is a Capital Income Statement (Erträgnisaufstellung), which Trading 212 expressly calls not a tax certificate. It sits under menu (☰) > Tax overview > Documents. From tax year 2026 a Steuerbescheinigung is issued for the Invest account, per the Help Centre.
- Trading 212 states it does not process the Vorabpauschale for tax year 2025; it is to be declared on the personal tax return. From tax year 2026 the Help Centre says it is handled automatically.
The basic rule on declaration sits in § 32d (3) EStG (retrieved 18 October 2026): taxable capital income that was not subject to Kapitalertragsteuer is to be stated in the income tax return. Which income this covers in a given case depends on residence, account and period and is not assessed here; the Help Centre itself refers individual questions to tax professionals. How the Sparer-Pauschbetrag and exemption orders interact is covered in Sparer-Pauschbetrag explained.
After the export: working with the file
The Trading 212 CSV is an event list: one row per order, dividend or booking. It does not deliver a holdings file with share counts and cost basis; holdings only emerge when the events are summed per security. Acutic has no Trading 212 import: as of 18 October 2026 Trading 212 is not on the supported import formats page. The generic mapped CSV import expects one row per position (symbol, shares, average cost, currency, opening date), not an event list; the file would first have to be condensed into holdings. For tracker comparisons see portfolio trackers without a bank connection. Keeping the original files unchanged allows every analysis to be repeated from scratch.
